Are you longing to follow Jesus but don’t know where to begin?

The gospel of Jesus Christ is where you begin. (And where you’ll stay!)

Do you understand the gospel?

If your answer is no, I want to emphatically encourage you to read

the acronym to the right, the book of John in the Bible, and these books below.

If your answer is YES, I would still highly recommend these books.

As many have said, we never outgrow the gospel.

Your understanding of the gospel drastically affects your entire life.

Stop what you’re doing right now, and talk to God.

Ask Him to reveal Himself to you,

and to bring you understanding of the gospel.

Then, invite a friend to start reading the Bible (And never stop!) and go through one of these with you!

God created us to be with Him.

(Genesis 2:15-25, Colossians 1:16, John 10:10, John 17:3)

Our sins separate us from God.

(Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23)

Sins cannot be removed by good deeds.

(Isaiah 64:6, Ephesians 2:8-9)

Paying the price for our sins, Jesus died and rose again. (Romans 5:8, 1 Corinthians 15:3)

Everyone who trusts in Jesus alone has eternal life.

(John 3:16, John 14:6, Mark 1:15)

Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever.

(John 5:24, John 10:10).

If Jesus really did die for you, there is only one right response— and that is your entire life.

Your entire life being wholly devoted to Him.

No other response will do.

“I’m longing to follow Jesus but don’t know what to do! What are tangible next steps?”

I'm so glad you asked! PRAISE GOD! He is relentlessly pursuing YOU!

1) Tell someone. Right now. Tell someone you know who is following Jesus! Tell them that you are longing to know + follow Jesus and surrender your life to him! (If you don’t know anyone who is following Jesus, please tell me!)

2) Start reading your Bible and never stop. God’s Word is alive and active. His Word has power and He tells us in Isaiah 55:11 that if you read His Word it WILL change you. Start with John, then read Romans, Acts, Ephesians and James. (AND NEVER STOP READING YOUR BIBLE!)  Here is the study Bible I have and LOVE if you're looking for one. There are tons of colors and styles. And here is the Bible Recap Plan and Book I've loved so much over the years. Before you start reading pray and ask God to bring you understanding of His Word! (He will!) While reading ask yourself these two questions- What does this passage teach me about God? & What does this teach me about how I should live?

3) Find a Bible-teaching church in your town and DIVE IN. GO, IN PERSON. Ask someone there for help- let them know you are just starting to follow Jesus. Ask them to help you get plugged into a small group, serve there, etc. Ask them if there is someone that has been following Jesus that could meet with you and help you to follow Jesus. GET INVOLVED. It will feel uncomfy at first, BUT I PROMISE YOU, keep going, keep showing up. Being a part of the local church is vital to your walk with Jesus!

Friend, to surrender your entire life to Jesus is the BEST decision you could ever make! You were made to know Him, enjoy Him, and glorify Him. I am so excited for you.

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.

It is just as the Scripture says: “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Greek: The same Lord is Lord of all, and gives richly to all who call on Him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:9-13
